Mickey Mouse house
What if a house for sell looks more like a Disneyland gift shop than a buyer’s dream home?
I was in a home for sale that was less than $300,000 (which is a very good price for that neighborhood). Unfortunately what I remember vividly were items, décor, treasures and delights from the Magic Kingdom. Mickey Mouse was strongly represented! Specifically at the entry, in every single room of the entire house, and on the patio in the backyard Disney was evident. The only thing missing were the price tags as I was looking around.
I don’t remember if the kitchen was updated nor how many bathrooms there were. I can’t tell you if there were hardwood floors or carpet. This is troubling.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love Mickey too. I indeed own a sweatshirt, coffee mug, even napkin rings, and few other items with silhouettes of big ears. Actually, I can’t wait to go to the castle with my grandson.
What this leads me to is this: When you get ready to sell your home, it must draw in the buyer for what the home has to offer. The beauty of the home while emphasizing its positive features and potential is essential. Buyers must be able to visualize themselves living in the home with their possessions. Having distractions so prominent really can lose a great buyer.
Are you thinking about selling your home? Would you like some tips as you get your home ready? The goal is to prepare a home for sale so a buyer leaves with a strong memory of the how they would live in your home. I am here to help ~~ you may have to endure this story again though!
